Rosemary Clooney continues her series of songwriter tributes with a set devoted to arguably the greatest melodist in American song, Richard Rodgers, and hsi respective lyricists Oscar Hammerstein and Larry Hart. It's actually quite a novel approach to feature Hart and Hammerstein lyrics on one CD, as most singers tend to focus on one or the other, but it's an idea that works well for Clooney, who has the measure of both lyrcists' styles.

Remar and Attila are a few surfers who also deal drugs for a living. They are trying to set up a final agreement with the local drug lord, Calavera, when their friend True Blue is broken by the police. Blue said too much in the police station and Calavera is out for revenge for this betrayal.
It looks like a modern day film George Clooney, so I decided to give it a shot, but surprisingly, it turned out to be one of his early work. To me, this is a really pleasant surprise. Red Surf are very cool 70’s drive in the movie feel it and this can be a refreshing change of pace from the mainstream. Okay, Lets get down to the content of this film, George Clooney and his friends are jet ski run for a drug kingpin (Gene Simmons is no doubt.) ………. Phifer plays Dede and his girlfriend wants him to settle down to have a family. The party scene is hardcore and gang violence is on the top competitors and therefore, if it is a tool to turn you off then you may want to head for the Disney instead. The moving plot with a moderate pace and the action is on par for this kind of movie. I like it mainly because it has a very realistic feel and it reminded me a lot of late 70’s / early 80’s (if you like this movie is nostalgia …… dripping with it). Availability is good and not very expensive to get a copy next time you see a post and back your own thoughts. Clooney film of my favorites and certainly a mainstay in my collection because the story of the birds also see repeated.
